Introduction
QASED Strategic Research Center closely monitors the casualties of Afghan civilians and the involved parties due to war and security incidents on a weekly basis.
The casualties’ figures are collected based on confirmed information and reports reported by the Afghan government sources, Taliban sources, eye-witnesses, and other reliable sources.
The main purpose of these reports is to grab attention of authorities and responsible parties to severe casualties of the ongoing war.
Preface
This report covers the casualties of security incidents in the country, which have been occurred during June 20-26, 2019.
The last week’s report shows that there is a significant decrease in the casualties of Afghan forces and the Afghan civilians compared to the casualties of the past weeks, but Anti-government armed militants noticed an increase in their casualties.
Going forward through the report, details and exact figures of the casualties’ of the Afghan government forces, Anti-government Armed Militants and civilians can be found in separate titles.
Afghan Forces’ Casualties
Last week, dozens of Afghan forces were killed and injured due to armed conflicts and explosions:
June 20:
Two local policemen were killed and two others were injured in Jalalabad city due to explosion of magnetic mine attached to the car of a local police commander of Nazian district, Nangarhar province.
June 22:
A policeman was killed in an attack of armed militants, in Bazazi area of Ghazni city.
June 23:
A police commander was killed by his colleague due to a dispute, inside the territory of a police base in Kunduz province. Three policemen were killed due to clash of armed militants and security forces in Khoshi district of Logar province. Four police were killed and one another was wounded due to an attack of Taliban in Gozara district of Herat province.
June 24:
A police commander was killed and a policeman was wounded due to a mine explosion in Argu district of Badakhshan province.
June 26:
Five ANA soldiers were killed in blast of a mine in Balaboluk district of Farah province. In addition, Taliban fighters attacked a security point in Farah city in which five policemen were killed. The police commander of Khogiani district and one of his security guards were killed and three others were injured due to explosion of a roadside mine in Khogiani district of Ghazni province. Eight policemen were killed and sixteen others were wounded due to an attack by Taliban in Gulran district of Hetat province.

Anti-government Militants’ Casualties
In the past week, the government opposition armed fighters have suffered death and injuries in result of the Afghan forces operations and the Afghan and Foreign forces airstrikes.
June 20:
82 Taliban fighters were killed and 27 others were wounded during an operation of Afghan forces, in Ghormach district of Faryab province.
June 21:
Deployed district officer of Taliban and another armed man were killed due to explosion of a mine in Achin district of Nangarhar province.
June 22:
Fourteen Taliban fighters were killed during a clash in Nawa and Shpigli areas of Tagab district, Kapisa province. In Logar province, two mine makers were killed by explosion of their own mine.
June 23:
An armed man was killed and another injured by detonation of a mine during planting in the shrine of Sultan Mahmood Ghaznawi in Rawza area of Ghazni province. Two armed men were killed by airstrikes of Afghan forces in Maidan Wardak province. Eighteen Taliban fighters including a commander were killed in Helmand province. An armed militant was killed due to an airstrike of foreign forces in Azizabad area of Shindand district, Herat province. Seven ISIS fighters were killed during an operation of National Security Forces in Norgal district of Kunar province. Fifty-seven armed militants were killed and 14 others were wounded in operations of ANA in Zabul province. Seven Taliban fighters were killed due to a clash between Taliban and Security Forces in Khoshi district of Logar province.
June 24:
Ten Taliban fighters were killed due to an operation of Security Forces In Khwaja Sabzush district of Faryab province. Eight Taliban fighters were killed and three others were wounded due to an airstrike in Wuch Bakhtoo area of Shahwalikot district, Kandahar province. Seven Taliban fighters were killed during an operation of Afghan Forces in Sabari district of Khost province.
June 25:
Six Taliban fighters were killed and three others injured in Katza and Mohajer bazaar area of Nahri Saraj district of Helmand province.
June 26:
Nineteen Taliban fighters were killed and thirteen others were injured due to operation of Afghan Special Forces In Pulchiragh district of Faryab province. Two armed men were killed by Afghan National Forces fires during an attack in Mehtarlam city of Laghman province.

Civilian Casualties
In addition to Afghan Forces and Anti-government armed militants, Afghan civilians also suffered death and injuries during the last week, details are in below:
June 20:
A civilian was killed and 19 others were wounded in Jalalabad city due to explosion of magnetic mine attached to the car of local police commander of Nazian district, Nangarhar province.
June 22:
Two civilians were killed by unrecognized armed men in Ghor province. A religious scholar was killed by armed men in the fourth district Jalalabad city, Nangarhar province. On the same day, another religious scholar was killed by unrecognized armed men in Golayee area of Ghanikhel district of Nangarhar province. Two civilians were killed in night operation of foreign forces in Paghman district of Kabul province.
June 23:
Two children were killed and two others were injured due to an armed clash on the way from Mazari sharif to Shabarghan,.
June 24:
Afghan forces have fired on a vehicle transporting civilians in Alamkhel area of Khas Balkh district of Balkh province, in which six civilians were killed.
June 25:
Five civilians were killed by a mortar shell fired by ANA in Murghab district of Badghis province.

Foreign Forces’ Casualties
June 26:
The Resolute Support Mission in a statement confirmed that two American soldiers were killed in Afghanistan. NATO didn’t confirm the province which these two soldiers were killed at. But Taliban in a statement claimed that these two soldiers have been killed in Sayed Abad district of Maidan Wardak province.
Conclusion
The last week’s report shows that all over the country, 383 people have been killed and injured from June 20-26, 2019. It’s worth mentioning that during the past week, a significant decrease has seen in Afghan forces and civilian’s deaths and injuries, but the Anti-government armed militants have suffered heavy casualties in Afghan forces operations and foreign forces airstrikes during the last week.
