Conclusion

The last week’s report shows that all over the country, 889 people have been killed and injured from July 4 – 11, 2019. Worth mentioning that it was a bloody week for both sides of the conflict and civilians as well, same as the week before.

During the week, the casualty rate of Afghan forces has decreased compared to the week before it; however, the casualty’s rate of anti-government armed militants and civilians have increased. In the previous report, 293 Afghan soldiers were killed, which indicates a significant decrease in this report. The number of Taliban fighter’s casualties was 195 in the previous report, which shows a little increase in this report. However, in the previous report, the civilian casualties were 32 people while in this report the casualty’s rate doubled that 57 people were killed in this week.

Civilians were once again killed and injured due to airstrikes and night raids by the Afghan and foreign forces. Since the past few months, many civilians have been killed repeatedly by Afghan and foreign forces especially in night raids and airstrikes, but the Afghan government didn’t take any significant step to prevent the civilian casualties. Also, another reason for civilian casualties occurred was explosions by Taliban fighters.
