Conclusion
The last week’s report shows that all over the country, 398 people have been killed and injured from July 12 – 18, 2019. Worth mentioning that this week was also a bloody week for both sides of the war and Afghan civilians like last week.
During this week, the casualty rate of Afghan forces has decreased compared to last week; but the casualty rate of anti-government armed militants and civilians has been increased. In the last week, 160 Afghan soldiers were killed, which indicates a significant decrease in this week. The death toll of Taliban fighters last week was 223, which shows little increase in this week. In the past week, the civilian casualties were 57 people and in this week the casualties rate became twice and 133 civilians were killed.
Civilians were once again killed and injured due to airstrikes and night operations by the Afghan and foreign forces. Since the past few months, hundreds of civilians have been killed repeatedly, but the Afghan government didn’t take any significant step about regarding that. Also, many of the casualties to the civilians occurred due to explosions by Taliban especially due to the roadside bomb blasts.
