Dr. Abdul Baqi Amin, the Director General of Qased Strategic Research Center and Hekmatullah Zaland, the Deputy Director of Qased met with the ambassador of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Kabul and discussed various issues.
In this meeting, held on Monday (February 17, 2020) at the office of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Kabul, Mr. Huseyin Avni Botsali, the permanent representative of the OIC in Afghanistan, welcomed the delegation with a view to the organization’s efforts for peace in Afghanistan.
Dr. Abdul Baqi Amin first shed light on the activities of Qased Strategic Research Center, especially its efforts in the field of Afghan peace.
Mr. Amin said: “The Organization of Islamic Cooperation is the common home of all Islamic countries, and therefore the need for its active role in the Afghan peace process is necessary which has recently reached a critical stage.”
According to Mr. Amin, the opportunity now available for peace in Afghanistan requires efforts to seize the opportunity and prevent it from being wasted.
The ambassador praised the efforts of Qased Strategic Research Center in Afghan Peace Process, stressing that the current opportunity for peace in Afghanistan is valuable and should not be wasted, and Afghans should sit at the negotiations table to end this bloody war.
Mr. Huseyin Avni Botsali said: “The Organization of Islamic Cooperation is closely following the peace efforts in Afghanistan and hopes that these efforts would lead to the desired result.”
Both sides in the meeting agreed to enhance cooperation between the two sides. Qased Strategic Research Center will share its research and publications with the OIC embassy, and both sides will share their views and opinions on peace in Afghanistan.
