Preface
This report covers the casualties of security incidents in the country, which have been occurred during June 27- July 3, 2019.
The last week’s report shows that there is a significant decrease in the casualties of anti-government armed militants and civilians compared to the casualties of the past weeks. However, Afghan forces noticed an increase in their casualties.
Going forward through the report, details and exact figures of the casualties’ of the Afghan government forces, anti-government armed militants and civilians can be found in separate titles.
Afghan Forces’ Casualties
Last week, dozens of Afghan forces were killed and injured due to armed conflicts and explosions:
June 27:
An officer of National Directorate of Security (NDS) for Sozma Qala district of Saripul province, along with two soldiers, was killed in an armed conflict between Afghan forces and Taliban.
June 28:
Eight policemen were killed and 16 others were wounded due to an attack of armed militants on security posts in Padgag area of Kijran district, Daikundi province.
Four policemen were killed and three others were injured due to an attack of Taliban fighters in Deh Yak district of Ghazni province.
A policeman was killed during a Taliban attack in Kunduz city.
A policeman was killed and another was injured due to a Taliban attack in Nawa district of Helmand province.
Two policemen were killed and three others wounded due to an attack of armed militants in Machaghlu area, Ahmad Abad district of Paktia province.
June 29:
Ten policemen were killed and 28 others were wounded due to an armed conflict between Afghan forces and Taliban in Ziarat area of Spin Boldak district, Kandahar province.
26 local policemen were killed and 12 others were injured in Nahrin district of Baghlan province due to an armed conflict between Taliban and local police fighters.
Six policemen were killed and four others wounded due to an attack of Taliban in Shahrak district of Ghor province.
14 policemen were killed in a Taliban attack In Takhtapul district of Kandahar province.
Two policemen were killed and four others wounded due to face to face armed conflict between Afghan forces and armed militants in Jari Khoshk area of Kishindih district of Balkh province.
Three Afghan soldiers were killed and two others were injured in an ambush of Taliban in Siwan area of Balablok district of Farah province.
June 30:
Two policemen were killed and 12 others were injured in Taliban attack in Qaramqol district of Faryab province.
Eleven policemen were killed and 27 others were wounded due to an attack of Taliban in Maruf district of Kandahar province.
Twenty-one policemen were killed in a clash between Taliban and Afghan forces in Paktia province.
Two policemen were killed and two others were injured in a Taliban attack in Gorziwan district of Faryab province.
A local policeman was killed and two others injured due to an attack of Taliban in Sholgara district of Balkh province.
Eight border and five local policemen were killed and eight border policemen were injured in Qurghan Tapa area of Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province.
Five policemen were killed due to a mine explosion in Taloqan city of Takhar province.
Five policemen were killed and three others were wounded due to an attack of Taliban in Samkani district of Paktia Province.
July 1:
50 policemen were killed and 25 others were injured during the fall of Qoshtepa district of Jawzjan province to Taliban.
39 ANA soldiers were killed and 12 others were injured due to a car bomb-blast near to Logistic Directorate of Defense Ministry in Kabul city.
A policeman was killed and three others were injured during a military operation in Nazirabad area of Pashtunkot district of Faryab province.
Four policemen, including two local police members, were killed due to a clash between Afghan forces and armed militants in Andkhoi Bazaar in Faryab province.
Three policemen were killed and three others injured during an attack of Taliban in Balmurghab district of Badghis province. Also, A local policeman was injured in Abi Kamari district of the province.
Six Afghan soldiers were killed in an attack of Taliban in Qadis district of Badghis province, in which three of them were policemen and the other three were ANA soldiers.
Two local policemen were killed and two border policemen were injured due to an attack of Taliban in Andkhoi bazaar in Faryab province.
Two local policemen were killed and two others were injured in Bacha area of Nahrin district of Baghlan province.
July 2:
Two policemen were injured during a clash between Taliban and police in Chorchi area of Pashtun Zarghon district of Herat province.
Three policemen were killed and three others were injured during an attack of Taliban in Cheshma area of Shahrak district of Ghor province.
National Directorate of Security (NDS) soldier was killed and two others wounded in an attack of Taliban in Taloqan city of Takhar province.
Five policemen were killed and nine others were injured due to a mine explosion during a military operation in Pashtunkot district of Faryab province.
Taliban militants attacked an Afghan forces’ convoy in Baghlan Markazi area of Baghlan province in which a policeman was killed and three others injured.
A policeman was killed in an attack of Taliban fighters in Kunduz city.
July 3:
15 Afghan forces were killed, two of them were police and 13 of them were local police, in Taliban attack in Saghar district of Ghor province,
A policeman was killed and another was injured during a police patrol in Balamorghab district of Badghis province.
Taliban militants attacked a check post in Kunduz city which killed a policeman.
Five border policemen were killed and four others were wounded in a Taliban attack in Rabat Sangi district of Herat province.
Six policemen were killed and 12 others were injured due to a Taliban attack in Cheshma Sher area of Polikhumry city of Baghlan province.
After the fall of Qoshtepa district of Jawzjan Province, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) Officer and five personnel of NDS were killed and two others were injured in an attack of Taliban in Darzab district of the province.

Anti-government Militants’ Casualties
In the past week, the government opposition armed fighters have suffered casualties due to Afghan forces operations and the Afghan and Foreign forces airstrikes.
June 27:
17 armed militants were killed during clashes between Taliban and Afghan forces in Waza Khwa, War Mamay and Mata Khan districts of Paktika province.
Four Taliban fighters were killed during a clash between Afghan forces and Taliban militants in Suzma Qala district of Sari-pul province.
June 28:
Eight Taliban fighters were killed and four others were wounded due to a clash between Afghan forces and Taliban in Pedgag area of Kijran district of Daikundi province.
15 Taliban militants were killed due to a clash between Afghan forces and Taliban in Deh Yak district of Ghazni province.
Nine Taliban militants were killed due to an airstrike in Sarkh district of Logar province.
17 armed fighters were killed due to airstrikes and ground attacks in Pashtunkot district of Faryab province.
June 30:
45 Taliban members were killed due to Foreign Forces’ airstrike in Sholgara district of Balkh province.
30 Taliban fighters were killed in a clash between Taliban and Afghan forces in Paktia province.
July 1:
30 armed Taliban were killed and 10 others injured in an armed clash in Qoshtepa district of Jawzjan province.
July 2:
A suicide bomber was killed by police in Kandahar city before committing his attack.
Nine Taliban fighters were killed and nine others were wounded during a clash between Police and Taliban In Chorchi area of Pashtun Zargahon district of Herat province.
A militant was killed and two others injured due to a clash between Taliban and Afghan forces In Baghlan province.
July 3:
Nine Taliban fighters were killed during operations of Afghan security forces in Andkhoi district of Faryab province.

Civilian Casualties
In addition to Afghan Forces and anti-government armed militants, Afghan civilians also suffered casualties during the last week, details are in below:
June 27:
Two civilians were killed and four others were injured due to a roadside bomb blast in Greshk district of Helmand province.
June 28:
11 civilians were killed due to an explosion in a mosque during Friday prayer in Karte Mujahid area of Samangan province.
Two civilians were killed in an attack of police in Sarokhel area of Garda Siray district of Paktia province.
June 29:
Nine children were killed and four others were injured in night operation of Afghan Forces in Nekpaiqol area of Chak district, Maidan Wardak province.
A civilian was killed and another injured due to an attack of police in Nawabad area of Dasht-Qala district of Takhar province.
July 1:
A civilian was killed and 93 others were injured due to a car bomb blast near the gate of Logistic Directorate of Defense Ministry in Kabul city.
A roadside bomb explosion has killed a civilian in Kandahar city.
July 2:
Two children were killed due to a rocket attack of Taliban in Shahri Naw area of Samkanai district of Paktika province.
July 3:
Two children were killed and two others were wounded due to mortar shell firing on a cricket ground in Samkani district of Paktika province.
A civilian was killed and three others were wounded due to a blast in an area related to the third security zone of Kunduz city.

Government Officials’ Casualties
June 30:
The former police chief of Gurbuz district of Khost province who was the brother of Kamal Nasir Asoli, a member of the Afghan parliament, was killed and his two security guards were wounded during a clash with family members of the current ruler of the district.
At least eight employees of election commission were killed due to an attack of Taliban in Maruf district of Kandahar province.

Conclusion
The report shows that all over the country, 875 people have been killed and injured from June 27 – July 3, 2019. Worth mentioning that, during the past week, a significant decrease was seen-able in anti-government armed militants and civilians’ deaths and injuries, but Afghan forces have suffered heavy casualties and it was the bloodiest week for Afghan forces in 2019.
